The PORLOCK Series
A new short series of images that showcase the varied coastal area of PORLOCK, within the heart of the extraordinary natural rugged beauty of the Exmoor National Park in Somerset England. It is one of my favorite places in the West Country, rich in dramatic and rolling coastal features, including the submerged ancient forest of Porlock some 8000 years old, the remains sometimes visible at very low tides. It has tidal saltwater marshes that are also home to the sculptural tree skeletons, and a wide array of picture worthy wooden breakwaters or groynes featured on the stone beaches below.
